The Albanian Student Association at the University of Connecticut was created by Redis Kelmendi in the fall of 2003. This association consists of a group of Albanian students with the desire to inform the surrounding community about the Albanian culture. To successfully accomplish our goals, we have participated in cultural events at the University of Connecticut to raise awareness of our culture. We have also interacted with other Albanian student organizations from other universities in the New England (north-east USA) area, and even organized popular informative events about the Albanian culture. We are also trying to help the Albanian community to further their education by providing monetary scholarships to students who attend the University of Connecticut. When choosing the perfect candidate to award the scholarship to, members of the Albanian Student Association look for the all-around student. We not only want a dedicated and hard working student, but we look for the Albanian student that will bring new ideas to the Albanian Student Association. The scholarship form can be found and downloaded by clicking the "Documents" icon of this website. The scholarship funds are raised by the association holding fundraising events and successful Albanian business owners with a view for the future donating to our association.
